The Little Match Girl

1. The thing that attracted me to the story was that it is in New Years Eve.
2. The plot is about a little girl who sets out to sell matches on New Years Eve but doesn't sell any. She gets very cold because she lost her mom's slippers that she was wearing and she became barefoot. She ends up in a corner lighting matches to "keep on seeing" her dead grandma but then she basically burned herself to death with all the lit matches.
3. The theme is to be charitable.
4. After reading the story... I thought about how her "grandma" was most likely an evil spirit which made her kill herself.
5. Yes, I would recommend this story because it is very interesting.

F451 Essay

Fahrenheit 451 is hands down one of the most interesting books I have ever read. What makes this book interesting is how every little scene is actually very big to the story. For this same reason is why we can interpretate a lot of themes into this book. One of many themes is self-determination. We can see self-determination with Montag. Montag drastically changes throughout the story after meeting Clarisse. Before meeting Clarisse, Montag was a regular pedestrian. Well not so regular because he was a firefighter, but to himself, Montag was just a married book burner. After meeting Clarisse, Montag decided to change his life. He wanted to show the world he can be whoever he wants. He wanted to bring back books because that was what he enjoyed.
